How to opt in to Pro Skills Basketball text messages

Pro Skills Basketball (PSB) is a youth basketball organization. Parents, guardians, and prospective families opt in to receive text messages from PSB in one of two ways: a consent checkbox on a PSB web form, or replying YES to a consent request that PSB sends only after the person texts a PSB number first. Both are described below.

Way 1: a consent checkbox on our web forms

  1. A parent or guardian uses a PSB web form: signing up for an account (app.proskillsbasketball.com/signup), registering for a program (app.proskillsbasketball.com/register), or submitting an interest form for a program in their city (app.proskillsbasketball.com/interest).
  2. They enter their own contact details, including their mobile phone number.
  3. They check an SMS consent checkbox that is not checked by default, opting in is an active choice and is not required to register, pay, or submit the form.
  4. The checkbox displays this disclosure: “By providing your mobile number and checking this box, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Pro Skills Basketball about your account, payments, schedules, team updates, and programs, camps, or events that may interest you. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Msg & data rates may apply; message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Mobile opt-in data is not shared with third parties for marketing.”
  5. Submitting the form records the consent (date and time stored).

Below is the consent checkbox exactly as it appears on these forms (shown unchecked, as it is by default):

This page is published publicly (no login required) as the hosted opt-in evidence for our SMS campaign registration: it reproduces the consent checkbox and disclosure exactly as shown on our live web forms (account sign-up, program registration, and program interest forms) at app.proskillsbasketball.com.

Way 2: replying YES after texting us first

  1. A parent, guardian, or prospective family texts a PSB city phone number on their own, for example to ask about a program.
  2. If that number has not already opted in, PSB sends one reply asking for consent, and nothing else. PSB sends at most one such request to a number in any 24 hours, and never to a number that has replied STOP.
  3. The request reads: “Hi Sam, this is PSB Charlotte. We got your text. Reply YES to get automated texts from PSB about your account, payments, schedules, team updates and programs, and we will answer your message. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Msg & data rates may apply; msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.” (the first name and city are filled in when PSB knows them).
  4. Replying YES opts in. PSB records the consent with the date and time, the exact request that was sent, and the reply that was received.
  5. PSB then sends this confirmation: “You're opted in to account and team text updates. Msg & data rates may apply, msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.” and answers the question they texted.
  6. If they do not reply YES, PSB sends no further texts. A PSB staff member is asked to follow up by phone or email instead.

What we send & how often

Messages include registration and payment confirmations, past-due payment reminders, practice and game schedule reminders, tryout and evaluation updates, gear-ordering reminders, and occasional information about programs, camps, tryouts, or events that may interest you. Message frequency varies based on your account activity and your player's schedule. Message and data rates may apply.

Help & opt-out

Reply HELP to any message or email admin@proskillsbasketball.com. Reply STOP at any time to cancel; you will receive one confirmation and no further texts. If you previously cancelled, reply START to resume. STOP and START are subscription-management replies for people who already opted in; opting in by text is described in Way 2 above.

Privacy

No mobile information (your phone number or your SMS opt-in/consent) is shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy and our SMS Terms & Conditions.
